peterchi = aggro fish? (A6o in BB)

UTG is 41.1/7.26/0.91 in 124 hands

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 4 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, SB folds, Hero 3-bets...

Yay or nay?

If you just call, what's your plan on a blank turn and river? Does anyone just fold to the flop raise?

(I actually didn't notice that his AF was a bit on the low side at the time...)

I mix it up in this spot. Sometimes I 3-bet other times I just calldown favorable boards. It he caps, I would just fold right there.

Typically I would 3-bet and fold to a 4 bet, bet/fold the turn/river if blanks come off.

Yeah I agree with the 3-bet/fold and bet/fold lines.

BTW, is raising preflop horribly bad? Suited is easy raise?

I raise this suited. I think it changes the SB's mind about completing enough of the time, and you're ahead of the UTG limper enough of the time(ignoring flop aggression..this is pre), to make it profitable.

There's a chance he limped a medium PP and you're way behind. I just dont see a 9 here, unless A9o maybe? I 3-bet this flop for information, and fold to the raise. If he just calls, lead turn.

Yeah, I like that. I don't know what on Earth possessed me to call down after he capped here...

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't want to raise pre-flop with two people already in. I think I'd be more likely to raise if I was the button with 1 limper, but even then I wouldn't be thrilled if I thought there was a reasonable chance that either blind would defend.

Suited becomes a different story, yeah. But from the BB with two limpers it's still not an auto-raise for me... should it be? I mix that up.

I don't raise this pre-flop either. Weak aces out of position 3 way are trouble, mainly due to reverse implied odds. You likely won't get ation if you hit your hand, and if you miss you end up betting into an inflated 3-way pot with just A high. You might get to take it down sometimes on raggy K x x type boards, but I don't think these are enough to justify the PFR. This is one o those instances when giving up a bit of equity pre-flop is worth it in my opinion.

I don't do either. Though I could see the case for mixing in a raise with A6s sometimes in the right spots.

I'm learning as well so I'm more asking than stating:

what is a blank on the turn? 5/4/3/2? Anything else doesn't give warm fuzzies given villains wide preflop range.

what about c/r in this spot? Are you more likely to get someone to fold 2 overs with a c/r here. If you get 3-bet you can fold given villains 0.91 aggr. number.
