Probably boring and standard hand

Sorry if this hand is not interesting. Im a no limit n00b so I still question some common situations.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

UTG ($610)
Hero ($1039.65)
Button ($110)
SB ($783.10)
BB ($724.22)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Kc, Ad. SB posts a blind of $3.
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $30</font>, Hero calls $30, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, BB calls $24.

Villian has been openning quite a bit but usually for less than this. Is calling or reraising best here? If I should reraise, how much?

Flop: ($93) Tc, 3d, Kd <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $55</font>, Hero calls $55, BB folds.

Turn: ($203) Ts <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $100</font>, Hero calls $100.

River: ($403) 7c <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $275</font>, Hero calls $275.

Final Pot: $953

I'm assuming this calldown is standard? By the river I didnt feel like I was winning very often but thought chopping was a definate possibility.

Ah, sweet irony.

I think the call pre-flop is fine. On the flop, I'd raise and fold if he 3-bets, check the turn, overbet river to represent missed flush/OESD.

at which point in the hand do you think you are ahead?
... behind?

raise somewhere to see whats up. flop is the cheapest, but raising the turn sure is nasty to AK, AA.

consider reraising pre.
the rest looks good... only thing i can do different post is possibly fold the river... possibly.... calling there is, however, pretty standard.

flawless and others,

Does the turn min-raise to induce a river check work at these limits? The turn seems like a pretty good card to slow Villain down and it would make for a cheaper showdown. Just curious.

Regarding the river: The fact that he didn't just shove and kept like 200 instead made it look an awful lot like a value bet to me. Possibly sorta thin like AA/AK. Is this generally correct thinking? It seems like if he was bluffing the whole way or had less than AK he would either give up on the river or shove on the river, and if he had a monster I thought he would also shove on the river. The hand I was most worried about was definately AA.

Raise PF, and if you dont raise PF, raise the flop. See where he's at...

Re: Probably boring and standard hand

ill warn you in advance this is a gay reply:

re-raise preflop sometimes. and without AK. you are 5-handed and the guy is active.

raise the flop sometimes, or call.

raise the turn to 250 sometimes, or call to induce a river bluff if he puts you on whiffed draw.

if you raise the turn, and he calls. and he checks the river, debate on making a thin value bet or be a wuss and check behind.

i would usually bet. because i don't like my opponents to get the impression i can be looked up by just calling one bet or raise.

but since you seemed geniunely worried about a hand here, your line is fine to take. just do not fold that river without a sick read after calling along.

i would take your line some % (30%?) of the time just to mix up my play and keep my bluffs consistent. a higher % of the time against very agg. players or serial bluffers.

It seems like this lets him get away from QQ/JJ too easy. And what do I do if he shoves after I raise?

raise the flop sometimes

Again, I dont see what a flop raise accomplishes. Unless he has QJ, it seems like its a WA/WB situation, no? If I raise the flop I feel like I am just bloating the pot and making it easier for him to stack me on the turn or river when hes ahead, and letting him fold cheaply when hes behind.

Why not just let him keep firing? Should I be looking to get my whole stack in on this hand?
