Heads up NLHE :

Last night I played a heads up match for about 3 hours or so against a pretty big fish. He beaten me in our last marathon match. The game had started 6 handed and then got down to me and him, but it was a cash game, not a tourney.

I barely raised preflop the entire three hours. Neither did he.

I play much better than him post flop.

Am I giving up alot here?

I do this all the time headsup and try to induce it in my opponents. For one thing, it saves time when 4-tabling 6max. For another, it engenders postflop passivity in weaker opponents.

I also like to think that a low average pot size attracts maniacs.

I think you gave up a lot, but successfully induced him to give up much more equity.

Yes. Particularly if stacks are not that deep.

if you play better postflop then you're going to be making most of your money in pots that you raise. i think that you made a big mistake by not raising frequently.
