Ugh.... simple math question

Say you have a QT of crubs

Flop 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

You have a OESD. Villian bets and you checkraise. Villian 3 bets.

Now Say you know villian has a K2o. How much money are you losing on the flop by going 3 bets?

Your draw is 2.17:1. You put in 3 bets and villian put in 3.

Preflop and postflop is not relevant.

Re: Ugh.... simple math question

If the draw is 2.17:1, then I have 31.5% equity on the flop (1/3.17). If I put in 3 out of 6 bets on the flop, and I get back 1.89 bets (.315 x 6), I lose 1.11 bets on the flop.

I think that answers your question.

The math looks about right (um, did you allow for running Qs, Ts or a running 2-pr ?)

More importantly, the fact that you took a bath on the flop is pretty much irrelevant from anything other than a stone-cold math perspective.

Your play was totally reasonable.

Hard to say whether it was optimal (might have been - probably wasn't) but it was absolutely not "bad".

All outs are accounted for--it was a pokerstove of our equity on the flop.
