Confused by turn raise

No read on villain. Also no definitive reason why I limped instead of raised.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, 6 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, SB folds, BB folds.

Turn: (3 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, Hero calls.

Admittedly I feared the worst here and just called. When the flop came, for whatever reason I thought that somebody had a set of 6's.

River: (7 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero calls.

Does this river worry anyone?

Final Pot: 9 BB

Afterwards I feel I played this very weakly. This was my first real test in 3/6, as I wanted to gauge how I'd do. I played my normal game mostly but did not get much to work with.

3-bet the turn, call down if he caps. Be careful on the river, the 8 may have made his Q8 a full house.

Raising PF is a must.

Re: Confused by turn raise

I raise KQo UTG in most games. But, let's not go there.

Flop is fine. 3-bet the turn. Your hand is huge and there are no flush/straight possibilities. If he caps, then call down. Please don't fear a set in this spot.

Yeah, I chickened out of raising UTG here.

Villain showed T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for a rivered flush. I saw several strange plays like this, including a player who check-raised me with 92o when I flopped the nut flush draw and he flopped a pair of deuces. Back down to 1/2 for me

Re: Confused by turn raise

His raise was a pretty nice semi-bluff. He had 12 very strong outs.

actually 15. I raise this pretty often. Especially if I perceive the opponent to be a little weak tight.

Re: Confused by turn raise

Yep, I didn't notice until I looked back at the hand that he actually had a straight flush draw.

I suppose the reason I called his raise was that I was split evenly between putting him on 66 or Acxc. Him having two hearts never even came into my mind.

I raise this turn. I think a set would have raised the flop.

His flop call is brutal, yet his turn play could be interpreted as high-level. That said, put him on your buddy list. He's a retard.

And raise pre-flop.
