$100 Million at NoblePoker

Anyone check the No Limit Hold'em Tourny at Noble offering a monstrous Jackpot Prize of $100,000,000!!! ?

Is this real? what is the catch?

Kind of like offering $1 Million if the 4th batter of the 7th inning hits a grand slam (highly unlikely)

-They are holding a live tournament in Vegas

During the Final Table action, if one of the players will hit a Royal Flush of Spades he will win the $100,000,000 Grand Prize

The additional Jackpot Prizes are:

1. Any other Royal Flush - $1,000,000
2. Any Straight Flush - $1,000,000
3. 4 of a kind Aces - $500,000
4. 4 of a kind Kings - $500,000
5. 4 of a kind Queens - $250,000
6. 4 of a kind Jacks - $250,000
7. 4 of a kind 10's - $250,000

And that's not all…if you come close to hitting the Royal Flush, you'll also go home a millionaire!
The Final Table at this tournament will be the most exciting in poker history, as we'll have several more Jackpot hands.

I'd have to say that being at the final table in a major land tournament + huge bonuses for hitting unbeatable hands = +ev.

If I played tournaments and was good, I'd jump all over this.

I'd like to know who is backing them for the $100,000,000 though. That's a lot of change to put up even for a hard to hit gimmick.

It's called "Insurance". Noble doesn't pay, an insurance company does if it happens.

Really? I had no clue!!!

My point is who is this insurance company that's backing this? I'd want to know this and be sure they could pay $100,000,000.

It's quite common, actually. There's very little difference between calculating the odds of hitting a royal flush in spades and New Orleans being flooded. Once the actuaries come up with a number they issue the policy and lay off some or all of it to other insurance companies to spread the risk.
