Abandoning the Hilton Sisters?

Live 4-8 game at Casino Arizona. It's a kill pot, so the real stakes are 8-16. I have the kill so I posted $8 utg.

A few folds then a raise all in by a middle position player. Folds to the big blind on my right who reraises. He is a passive calling station and raises preflop very rarely. The two times where he was forced to show his hand at the end after a preflop raise were AA and KK.

I check my hand and I am dealt QQ. So first raiser is all in and passive calling station has reraised. $50 in pot and 16 to call. Does anyone reraise here?

I called.

Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Passive player on right leads out. What's your move?

Does the fact that one player is all in for a good chunk of the pot have anything to do with your decision?

Raise pre-flop, if you raised pre-flop the passive player would be less likely to bet into you on an ace high board without the ace, so if he does you can probably fold safely.

considering you're likely being reraised to fold your stake.... raise preflop.

Reraise preflop especially since you have position on a passive player.

Flop is lousy, but position should make it easy to play vs. this opponent.

Given your read, I think the preflop call is all right. It sounds like BB is 3-betting a very narrow range of hands, and it's entirely possible you are not a favorite against that range.

The flop is not too encouraging, and you now lose to JJ and AKs.

I think you can fold.

As far as the all-in player goes, I'm thinking his range is probably fairly wide. But the possibility that he has an ace even if by some chance BB just has TT or something doesn't cheer me up any.

If this is likely, then I like a preflop 4-bet.

However, if BB is the kind of B&M player I have in mind, he wouldn't consider 3-betting preflop to drive out the person who posted the kill.

Some B&M Small Stakes players are really, really passive and bad.
