lost bookmarks on Firefox

My power blinked this evening and caused my computer to shut down, and now all my bookmarks in Firefox are gone. Is there anywhere they might be hidden? I already looked at the bookmarks.html file in the default profile (only profile I have).

Try looking under Documents and Settings \ (name) \ Application Data \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ (somestring)
or was that what you meant?

Yeah, that's what I meant. Looks like I'll have to start from scratch. Anyone have experience with Del.icio.us bookmarks or something similar?

Have you run a file system check? It might recover the file.

Well, that't tough. Make it a learning experience. I bought a USB dongle (512 MB) and save my bookmarks to it every week. Also backup saved e-mail, scanned documents, etc. Also export and save your registry (this was my learning experience!)
Just takes a few seconds.
