WSOP as a spectator.

Is this event worth going to just to watch (I'm only an hour plane ride away)? Can you see much? Can you only watch the finals? Never been there, but wondering if it is fun to go to just as a spectator sport.

Thanks.

I've been to several over the years and pretty much find it to be like watching grass grow...except very occasionally when there is an exciting hand where you can actually see something.

if you don\'t play--don\'t go because

you hardly ever see any cards.

but if you want to play in side games, then go early while weaker players still have money...these games can be very good

It is NOT great theater.

Plus, it would feel like that horrible miserable God-forsaken "Oh no I don't have a stake anymore" feeling.

I can hardly watch the WSOP tapes I own anymore; it's depressing watching other folks push titanic stacks of checks around when I know it should be me.

Depending upon where they set up the finals, it's entirely possible you will not get a seat. Even playing in the final event doesn't necessarily guarantee you a seat to watch the final day if you bust out.
