2 folds</font>, MP1 calls t30, 2 folds</font>, CO raises to t60</font>, Hero pushes for t795 3 folds</font>, CO folds.

Final Pot: t135

I almost never play my big hands this fast, especially against a min-raise. I've been toying around with the idea of firing out hard from the blinds pre-flop, especially in situations like this one. I'd like to get a little more value out of my queens, but I like the message that it sends. I have been getting more walks later on in games, which is huge.

Any thoughts on the metagame value of this vs. perhaps giving up some immediate EV by playing the hand more slowly?

Basically if you're playing as low as $33s any move that sacrifices immediate EV to send out a message, etc, is pretty bad, and if you're playing high enough that people are paying attention and will remember this type of move then it won't work very much and you're still cosing yourself immediate EV.

Too fancy!

It'll get a good player to fold AK a lot of the time which is good for us. Donks will call little pairs all the way down through AJ. So we eliminate positional disadvantage vs solid players and get our money in with the way the best of it vs bad players.

If by fancy you mean pretty flippin smart, then I agree.

EDIT:

Here it is: This move folds most hands that your QQ will crush here. The amount of times you get called by 88 or whatever isn't going to make up for it. Why make a move where the guy basically HAS to play bad for you to make money?

Here it is: you overestimate the donks.

Do you typically make 25BB pushes with QQ-AA?

You guys must hate money to like this line.

I have before. Not always, but sure I have. And I've been called by hands like AT, KQ, 99, etc.

I don't doubt that you have, but do you really think that moving in that many BB with a nice big premium hand is the most profitable line?
