Inspiron 9300 sound problem
 

How do you turn down the sound in this thing when using headphones? Even when I mute it, it still has this faint buzzing and sometimes it will beep at incredibly high levels at random times, scaring the complete [censored] out of me. I just can't figugre out how to fix it.

I don't have one but that beep is probably the "PC speaker" that is being emulated through the sound system. You might find a setting to turn it down. The buzzing is probably just noise from a cheap component, whether it's the sound card or your headphones.
