Eyes are getting sore...time for new monitor (help needed)
 

I have been using my Dell Inspiron 6000 with WUXGA screen to 4table for the last few months, and lately my eyes are getting sore/tired after about 4 to 5hrs (I play 8hrs). I just recently switched the res. to 1600x1200 and that seemed to help a little, but they still get sore. Now, I know that everyone will probably say to get a 2001FP, but I had some questions:

I would prefer to use it on my desktop (Dell 4700), which has 1280x1024 resolution, does this matter? I want the tables to be bigger (ie, the size that they are on my desktop rather than my laptop), will the 2001FP do this?

Is this sufficient for 4tables with no overlap?

And finally, what price is good/reasonable?

depending on the size of the monitor you're running 1280x1024 on, 1600x1200 on the 2001FP will range from a about the same to significantly smaller. The resolution isn't a measure of the size of each pixel (directly), it's just how many span the screen.

Each table on the 2001FP will be about 10 inches on the diagonal.

My desktop has a 17"FP. And I just measured and the tables on it are about 10" in diagonal, so it sounds like it should be very similar, so that's good. Is the resolution just a function of the screen, or would I need any special upgrades on my computer in addition to the screen?

You need to make sure that your video card will support 1600 X 1200 resolution. I think most modern ones do.

You might consider going to a licensed eye professional and explaining your issues to him. There might be another solution to your eye strain issues.
