Brand Spankin\' New Glock 19
 

I just bought a Glock 19. I've fired numerous handguns in my attempts to figure out what I want to purchase, and I finally decided on this weapon.

Does anyone have experience with the 19 (or similarly, the 23?) Does anyone carry one concealed? After the requisite training, I plan to get myself a concealed handgun license - frightfully easy to obtain in this great state we call Texas.

I intend to use this weapon for home defense/personal protection. I'm not a cop, though I am ex-military - though that probably accounts for less than you'd expect, as I never handled a pistol in any sanctioned capacity in my time in.

Did I make a good call?

Well since you want it for personal protection, I would have probably gone with .40 (model 23) or .45 (model 21). I'm not a huge fan of glock but I love the Springfield XD although you probably tried one during your search. It is all up to how you feel, the glock is a nice gun and if you felt most comfortable using that then it is a good buy.

I bought a 19 for the wife of a gun clueless co-worker. 19's are perfect for women. It'll probably suit conceled carry fine.

yes i carry handguns concealed sometimes...i prefer my desert eagle though...can be a bit of a kick though - they have a few models that are great for concealing
