Is this standard?

Villain is a TAG, on predictable side. I've shown that I'm willing to peel with ace high on flops and on some occasions take them to showdown. Is this a standard line?

i dont like raising here. SB's hand range consists mostly of Ax hands.

I would be more inclined to raise the flop in hopes of a free showdown. I think bluff raising an A is probably a bad idea typically.

Re: Is this standard?

can you guys explain? i've been on a big downswing recently and have been giving up on pure bluff raises to a large degree.

Do you think villian folds any pair here?

edit: if you do this how often do you do it?

Re: Is this standard?

yes villian would fold a pair here from time to time (as he should unless your image is incredibly bad) and there is a good chance he does not have a pair anyways.

i just feel when i make this move i'm called down A LOT, still might be worth it, but i've been shying away cause i feel like i'm not getting a lot of folds.

Re: Is this standard?

he definitely would fold a pair here, but the question is does he have a smaller pair? would he check-call that instead? 55, 88, 99 won't fold. 66/77 won't fold but probably check-call anyway. 44-22 would bet to make you fold a bigger pair but not that many TAGs 3-bet those hands from the SB. KK-TT might bet-fold, but wouldn't they check-call just in case? that makes it look like he has an A to me. of course you gain vs KQ and KJ too. I don't see a predictable TAG 3-betting much else. the draw makes it better than just a pure bluff since a predictable TAG probably isn't finding a 3-bet with anything less than 2 pair, so you get to draw to that 4 outer pretty often.

I don't like it though. I think he check-calls his pairs too often and has AK-AJ, AA, 99-55 too often compared to the times he bet KK-TT on the turn
