Foxwoods 5/10 kill vs. 10/20

Hey gang,

Heading down to the reservation tomorrow for a B&M tune up before my trip out to Vegas at the end of the month, and I'm trying to decide what to play. I've played and had good success at 2/4 full and 3/6 6max online. I just moved up to 5/10 6max this week. While in AC last month I played the 6/12 at the Borg, and thought it was pretty soft, overall.

I've watched FW 10/20 games from the rail in the past, and have often seen games with 5 or 6 to the flop, and it looked pretty passive. Is this the norm? What's the 5/10 kill game like?

Could anyone who has regularly sat in these games tell me what to expect, especially post-flop?

Thx,
-Brian

I have yet to play the 10/20 as I'm a little underolled, but the 5/10 game is very very juicy. 5 to a flop is pretty standard on *most* tables, and I'd estimate the preflop raise % to be about 5. I'll be sitting 5/10 all day tomorrow so drop a "sup bro" and I'll buy you a beer. Good luck in Vegas.

Of all my experiences playing 10/20 (at foxwoods, borgata, taj, all over the city, trop - when they manage to get it off) I found the FW 10/20 to be the softest. That was during the week when the players are supposedly better. That was only a two day test but it was two of the most profitable days I've had. As with most places - tight agressive makes a ton up there.
Good Luck

PS - I'd try (if you can afford it to play the 5/10 Kill at the least or the 10/20 if you can to prepare you for 8/16 or 15/30 in Vegas)

i've played the 10/20 half a dozen times and always found it to be incredibly soft, softer than the 8/16 bellagio and wynn tables I have played.

the 5/10 seems to be a bit softer in general, but it is close. the game kills at 10BBs, so at juicy tables you will get kill pots very very often. there are definitely 5/10 tables where you will have a higher WR than 10/20, but usually not.

if you feel like you're beating 2/4 and 3/6 6max at party and you have the bankroll go for it I can't think of any reason not to play the 10/20.

I'm going to be playing the 10/20 game tonight and in past experience it has always been very soft. The thing with the kill game is on the weekends it is usually inhabited by people looking to gambool and thus plays more like a 10/20 game. When the game runs like this I tend to lean toward just playing the 10/20 game because I don't like posting the kill, but like somebody else said I wouldn't be suprised if you could show a greater winrate at that game if the conditions were right.

Also, all of the games should be pretty soft this weekend so I don't think you can go wrong at either game. Good luck at the tables and come by and say hi if you see an early twenty-something kid with longish hair at the 10 game.

Knoler -

Knoler - put your name on 4-8, 5-10 and 10-20 then determined the table profile and decide what action suits you the best.

Vegas bound 9/29 - 10/2

Probably, it has been a while since I've been there. If you come to foxwoods tonight come by the tables and say whats up.

Sup bro,

The key to picking Foxwoods games is this:

Pick based on the tables in question.

Hobbs is right that the 5/10, particularly on weekends, can get real gambooly and play very close to a 10/20. If you can find one of those tables, and the 10/20's look rocky, definitely play 5/10.

I've sat very rocky 10/20s and very rocky 5/10s. In general, though, both tables are loose and awesome. Don't worry too much about committing to one limit or another because you'll be limiting your options.

As soon as you get the roll play the 20/40. It's one of the juiciest games around.

Thanks for all the tips.

I'll be getting in down there probably between noon and 1 tomorrow, and I'll probably sit in the 10/20 unless the game looks rockish.

I'll be the thin guy in jeans and a brown button down patterned shirt with meaty sideburns and lookin' like I need not one but *two* haircuts. (Unless, of course, I manage to get a haircut tomorrow morning. Then I'll be the guy in that outfit with sideburns and lookin' like I just got all my hair chopped off.)

If you see me, let loose a sup bro.
