I've never been there, my friend liked "The Aviator Club".

Its the "Aviation Club De France". Its on the Champs-Elysees. I haven't been there since 1998, so I'm pretty sure my experiences there wouldn't be too relevent. For starters, I hear they use Euro-denominated chips now - making my 25 French Francs chip a collectors item

I played at the aviation club 2 weeks ago, its the only game in town as far as I can find. Not sure how many games are usually running, but as I was there on a weeknight there was a tournament going on and only 1 cash game going on, the 2E-4E game.

The club is a small doorway on the Champs-Elysses and you could walk right by it without noticing.

The games are all dealers choice, with the most common games I saw being called were Courcheval, Omaha-5, and Omaha Hilo, all pot limit of course. It was a good, but not great game.

Don't know much about the aviator club itself, but on espn.com Raymer voted Paris as either the 3rd or 4th best city to play poker in the world.

Re: Is there Poker in Paris?

I played in the Aviation Club last summer. They run hold em tournaments with low buy-ins on the weekends. I happen to wander in as they were starting a satellite for WPT entry fees. Magically, I placed 2nd in a three (or four, I never bothered to look around) table satellite and got a 500 Euro buy-in chip for any preliminary WPT event. Sadly, I was leaving Paris and couldn't use it.

Definitely worth going to and playing, even for pure fun. There is another poker room just off the Champs whose name and specific locale I forget.
