So I\'ve placed Three sports bets in Vegas in my life...

Bet #1: May/June 2002, Nets at Celtics game 3 eastern Conference Semi-Finals.

Wager $100 on Nets to win at +180.

Result: Nets take 21 point lead into the 4th quarter, then proceed to do the biggest choke job in NBA playoff history, losing the game by 3.

Bet #2: October 2004 Yankees-Red Sox ALCS

Wager: $100 on the Yanks to win the series (-150 ish?)

Result: Yanks take a 3-0 series lead and a one run lead into the 9th of game four, then proceed to do the biggest choke job in MLB playoff history.

Bet #3: July 2005 Houston Astros future bet

Wager: $100 on the Astros to win the NL pennant at 40-1.

Result: You fill in the rest

Hey! Let me know what you're going to be betting on next, and maybe then I'll make my first sports bet of my life

will do, funny thing is, my $100 bet on the yanks was an semi-attempt to jinx them, since I hate the yankees.

But I still thought I would win.

I think the Red Sox were actually favored in that series.

Possible, We were actually leaving Vegas like the day the series started and I had my friend go down and bet it for me, cause I was trying to change my luck/see if I could put a jinx on again if it was just my cash.

I ripped up the ticket around a week later. I wish I still had both tickets from both of those bets.

Funny, I had some crazy hedge scheme, basically bought disaster insurance, I bet on the Cards to win the series in 4 5 and 6 games, increasing each bet.
jinx jinx jinx

Definetly, in a Sox vs Astros series, bet like $500 on the Sox and you are guaranteed money.

Its just to win the NL pennant, not world series, I was 1 strike away.
