call down. the turn isnt pretty but i think you are still good enough [/ QUOTE ] ok this must be where im having problems in SH play in hand 2 after the guy bets the turn,i thought to myself "fold" ok i suppose most will say he can be betting a draw or going bananas with less that 99 but is that usual for SH players? i mean on this forum when it is HU the advice is almost always to call down ,no matter how much agression the guy has shown, is very agressive play that common? do you ever fold HU when the board is drawy? |
Re: need help with two 10/20 hands
FWIW, I would fold hand #2 on the turn.

Explain here please. What are we beating. To the OP, why are you raising this river? [/ QUOTE ] well, he hit two pair, so he's ahead of just about every 3betting ace except AT. im not folding for 1 bet on the river in a 12BB pot against an unknown when I have 2 pair here. |
Re: need help with two 10/20 hands
Hand 1: I would need a solid read on the opponent as passive to make a fold on that river. The read would have to be maniac on tilt for me to think there is value in capping. I call. Preflop is okay if the blinds are weak. Flop and turn are fine.
Hand 2: Without reads, I'd go into call down mode. If the player is aggressive he could have a flush draw, straight draw, or both in this situation as well as a set of 5s, strong ten, or a 7 that sucked out. This is not the time for a free showdown raise because you are only beating draws that won't fold and you won't be able to value bet the river. |
