OK i have decided that i do better in tournaments than cash games and for this reason i am gonna test my skills. I am gonna take 40$ and play 6 5/1$ sng`s.

I am gonna ad a little to this thread each time and talk about my experiences. I will use PT to track my statistics.

Better of taking 66 dollars and playing 6 11+1 SNGS. The rake at the 5+1 is killer, better of just playing the 11s, same competition level.

I would play higher stakes but i want to see statistics on my play before i move up levels. Also my stack is not super big.

Ok Bad start in the first tournament. I got knocked out in 6th. I had KJ suited, my stack is 700 i raise to 100 and get 1 caller. flop came kj2, i raise then get reraised so i push. Turn T, River 5. He flips 22 on me [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Came 2nd in the next one. had a nasty beat on the last hand. My opponent spiked 2 diamonds on the turn and river to beat my top 2 pair.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't play tournies, but you shouldn't make any decisions after this 6 game test trial. Even if you placed in ALL 6, it would say virtually nothing about your skill.

That strategy guide is good. I play very similar to how it describes.
I completely understand about 6 tournys not being enough. I am just gonna play these 6 then see how i do. If i am going ok then i will continue playing them to build up a big database of statistics.

how many do you think would be enough to start getting accurate stats? 100 ? 200?
