My girlfriends wants me to win the WSOP 2006!!
 

Hi All,

If you have read any of my previous posts, I am taking a break from Poker as got bored of cash games, and am quite enjoying the break.

Anyway just moved into a flat with my girlfriend which has Sky and have seen highlights of the WSOP 2005. She says why don't I enter that, I told her that entrance is $10,000 and I would get knocked out in the 1st day, but she has faith, and so told me to start playing these MTT games and try and get an automatic qualification place through these online tournaments. I have played about 20 of these in the past in total. Best was 16th in a +1000 field, but to be honest, don't really play like the pro's. Just play extremely tight, and hope to get good cards so usually never going to win a tournament.( eg don't raise middle low PP, just limp in, etc and will fold if I don't hit my PP on the flop with overcards) I know this is C%ap play, so need to improve!

Could you recommend what the best books for these MTT.

I don't want to disappoint her in the next WSOP tournament ;-)

Sounds like you need "Kill Phil". It's the perfect book for someone who plays the 'old school' game that you describe.

For the love of good get Harringtons books

Vol 1 will teach you how to play poker, which you might not need, but its a good solid book from cover to cover

Vol 2 is all about having balls of steel !! (Great book !!)

I own it, but I play almost exclusively limit hold'em ring games. I've read portions of it, but not the whole thing. I like how he walks you through the process of analyzing the situation, stacks, players, hand, etc. It seems like it'll be a great book when I get around to it. I'm too busy working on my limit game right now.

Thanks guys, will defintely get Harrington No. 2, but do I really need No. 1??. I primarily play cash games NL and so have got a good experince already. Can anyone sell it to me.....not literally but what does it have that would be extremely useful. Thanks for your quick replies,
