whats better +EV, 6max or 10max?

I used to play 6max almost exclusivly because i liked the more regular action. But the last 3 months i have almost exclusivly 10 handed games because thats the only option to play in the casino and that part of my game that was the weakest. But now my 6max game is a lil rusty, but they are proabably about even. What has better EV overall? Does 10 handed have it for multitabling?

theres no clear answer for your question, as its different for everyone. if it was clear that one was more +EV than the other, all of us would be playing one rather than the other.

6max has higher variance. your true winrate will be determined by how well you play in short handed situations. players who play headsup, 3-way pots well will do better. players who do not won't.

6max is much funner, you get to play more hands and are put into more marginal situations, and will inspire you to continue to WANT to play poker. Therefore, 6max is more +EV.

Now back to studying for my god damn quiz tomorrow. No more procrastinating.

If you mean which is more profitable then the answer is 'it depends'. On you, your opponents, the site's bonus requirements etc..

That said there are a lot more 6 max tables around than full Ring these days and if I was going to get good at one I'd pick 6 max.

to me 6 max is "real poker." 10max is more of a wait for a good hand and hit a flop. and its boring. i have done both and the variance is much higher for 6max but i think it is more profitable. and its definitely more fun.

My experience is that playing one table 6-max (and analyzing a lot!) is the game where a ok player can become a good or great player the fastest. I play 1 table for that reason even if I think I can get a little higher hourly rate by 4tabling 10-max nut pending.

i havent played a full ring game in forever.. been 6maxxing it for a while and i dont believe i'll go back, unless i'm playing b&m.

i am a lot more confident in a shorthanded game than i am in full ring.

I think a better question might be does 6max or 10full have more bad players? I know for low limit holdem, 6max definitely has an overwhelming number of bad players and would theoretically be more profitable in that sense, assuming you could play shorthand well. But I haven't played 6max for no-limit yet. I think 6max, in the same way as Omaha and pot-limit games, naturally attract worse players who like to gamble a lot.

On my prima site. The 10 person tables where full of fish. I think that site would be ideal to open 4 10 person tables and only play premium hands.

I was clearing the 100 november bonus on empire on friday night and decided to play some 10 handed for some thing different. MY GOD was it tight. I couldnt believe it.
I stole blinds and pots left right and center.
My theory was, everyone was in for the cheapest way to clear the bonus. Which is fold hands on the 10 person and have less blinds.

To wrap up this long winded reply. Depending on your site, your going to half to play both for a couple thousand hands and let your tracker software tell you. From what Ive seen the difference was night and day between the two sites.

And I agree with the other posters, 10 handed bores me to tears
