Is this a blog or a message board?

After 10-15 minutes of kicking, you turn around and give a dirty look? lmao. Why are you so afraid of confrontation? 2 minutes into the kicking, turn around and civilly ask the mother to keep her daughter from kicking your chair. If the talking bothers you, get some headphones. End of story.

it wasn't constant kicking. probably at least one good hard kick/minute, plus some minor kicking.

i can't believe you people are siding with the kid here...

maybe your dad should have beat some manners into you?

I'm totally on your side if you try to handle it in a non-[censored] fashion. slamming your chair back and calling dropping the f bomb on a kid sounds like you had worse parenting than a rowdy kid on a delayed plane would indicate.

confrontation is always the last resort.

Re: Post your holiday horror stories here.

Perhaps before I had kids I would have sided with you, but now, not a chance. Kids are kids and it has little to do with parenting. If any parent hits their kid for kicking an airplane chair, they have issues. Granted I am from the camp that solving problems with violence (yes, spanking is violence) doesn't help the mental well being of anyone. It appears you were hit as a kid and now have anger management problems.

Tangent aside, kids are hard to deal with on a plane. They have EVERY right to talk. It is an airplane, not a movie theater. Kicking your seat is annoying, but 1) was it all the way reclined? 2) Were you exaggerating the situation because you hate kids? 3) There are better ways to ask the mother to do a better job monitoring her child.

Overall, you handled the situation poorly, very poorly As another response said, karma.

One Thanksgiving I brought twins to dinner and ended up hooking up with one of them in my old bedroom during desert.

I did not have my sea reclined. and this kid was like 8, old enough to know better.

there's definately an unwritten rule about being quiet on a plane. only exception is if you are sitting next to a hot chick, or you are telling your kid to sit still and be quiet.
