Preflop check up
I've been playing 5/10 6max for a while now, and i'm trying to find spots to loosen up. I've been doing so by playing a lot more suited cards like these:
Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) Preflop: Hero is BB with 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG raises, 3 folds, SB calls, hero calls ... Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) Preflop: Hero is SB with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2folds, Co limps, 1 folds, HERO calls... Are these calls too loose? In both cases the villians were typical loosish passive players who would pay off decently, and I feel I can play well enough when i hit a low pair. If they are too loose, what do you generally look for for random suited limping action and suited cards with 2 opponents? (converter isnt working for me so the formatting is a little off) |
Re: Preflop check up
I don't do either. I look for a little more connectivity.

Re: Preflop check up
Both are too unconnected for me.

Re: Preflop check up
Just look at how often you'll make two pair/trips/flush and see that you're getting 5-1. If you think it's enough, call, otherwise be a little more conservative.

Re: Preflop check up
I'd call the first but probably not the second.

Re: Preflop check up
Also, what I was trying to get at is this can very largely on how well you play. Don't call just to get your VP up. Call because you can play these hands profitably. You can make 2-3 BB/100 playing as 20/15, or you can do it playing 30/20. Just because your stats are 30/20 doesn't mean you play as well as schnieds/gonoers/peter_rus/akswand.

Re: Preflop check up
both are easy folds
although second is slightly better because its an unraised pot (youd expect your pairs would be a better chance of winning) I'd limp with 95s here. First one since you are less likely to win with a pair you want something with higher cards and/or more connected like 76s or T7s |
