Because he's not checking any reasonable hand into 3 players after one has already checked. If he check raised all in on us, I'd expect to see a lower pair quite often.

I think this just means that if he check/pushes here, he's probably got a poorly played hand. I don't see much of an argument for it being a poorly played bad hand though. I certainly have seen AK do this, or even 99.

i think a flush draw often takes that line, especially because he's almost sure to have an overcard or a gutshot to go with it. i would be surprised to see that line from a hand like 98 or 77.

Four-handed I'm checking behind here. The lack of a c-bet makes me a little uneasy, as does the fact that I'm not last to act. I don't think a bet will take down the pot (too good a chance someone hit top pair or flush draw, and won't lay it down), and I do not want a CR from the initial raiser, or a raise from the cold-caller.

Fit me for a skirt if you'd like.

i have no idea what to do on the flop, because I suck. So I think the most $EV play for me is to check it. If I sense weakness afterwards, I might play it aggressively, but I think I'm playing this weak/tight. A better player might be able to play it differently.

Why are we so afraid of a call here with position and these stacks? I doubt he folds to a reraise, let's keep the pot small and manageable and hope those behind us fold and leave us head's up w/ position.

Re: empire 55r JJ facing raise

I think MP's very unlikely to have checked a K here (unless he was going for a donkey c/r), there are now two suits out there and a K9, and if you called, the pot'd be about the size of your stack. I think it's a push, although I could see a call.

Thats pretty bad.

This is a semi WA/WB situation. I'm calling down, unless another player gets involved, then I'd consider running away like a little girl.

Why? He'll get called by a king, and maybe AA or QQ, and everyone else will fold. Oh, wait...
