Feedback looks good but the price makes me skeptical. I love the 3-color look and am sick of my "dice" chips but don't have near the cash for Paulsons right now.

those should be legit clay chips - the James Bond Paulsons, I believe....

I'd stay away from NexGen's if you want authentic Clay - they're nice, but they're NOT clay. Soft and don't have the clank of a metal insert, but again, not clay.

No, no, no - these are certainly not Paulsons. They say "Casino" around the edge, not Paulson. They are just those plastic Nexgen-style chips with James Bond look-alike stickers on them.

As in all things on the Internet, if it seems to good to be true - it is!

So what should i get for the .20-.25 range? I love the sound of the standard dice ones but I'm sick of the look and would preffer the slightly lighter and softer feel.

So pure clay chips don't have the sound? Do casino's use inserts then?

I'm actually a fan of these - they're cheesy looking but have a really nice feel, the best in that price range IMO. I think you can find the same style w/o graphics too. A lot of people like the Nexgens/River Poker Tour chips as well.

I have custom clays from T.R. King, and they look and sound great. You're looking at about $1 a chip for those.

Do yourself a favor and check out www.chiptalk.net - they'll put you on the right track for sure.

I would note, for future reference that if the price looks real good to check the shipping cost. It looks to me like this guy is popping the shipping cost up about 30 bucks over actual cost.

NexGens are one step above the dice chips, but probably not two steps above. The biggest advantages to nexgens are: 1. that they have a recessed center, so they are easy to label and 2. many people like the edgespots/look.

This being said, I'll give three possible recommendations.

1. Faux Clay They're a Plain Jane Chip, but have a great feel and sound and stack very well. Many of the regulars on chiptalk.net recommend these as a starter set. About 6c a chip, plus delivery.

2. Sopranos. This is the other basic chip that people talk about. A little less plain, they have the edge spots, etc. About 10c a chip plus delivery.

3. Sample Set 1 and Sample Set 2 -- This will give you a sample of many of the chips in your price range. Holding the chip in your hand is probably the best way to decide what meets your needs. This would be my recommendation.

I've been looking all over for info on these chips. I asked the seller to sell me a sample, but he refused to do it. I'm skeptical, though, about them being clay and also worried that they're really just horrible Paulson clones. Also the denominations are a turn-off for me, I play primarily tournament style so prefer not to have 1 and 5 denominations, and want 500 and 1000 instead, which they don't seem to offer. The picture sure looks good, though. If you buy them, please post your impression of them
