On the button with an extra poster. Raise preflop with marginal hand?

Play at the PokerRoom tables has been very tight preflop, but the play by most players is god awful postflop. I caught well, so the hand was rather straightforward, but was the preflop raise a good move since there was an extra blind posted?

PokerRoom 2/4 10-handed

Hero is dealt 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Preflop: 6 folds, poster checks, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls, Poster folds.

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero raises, BB calls

River: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

Any thoughts?

The whole hand looks fine to me.

I don't see a problem PF as long as you say the blinds are tight.

I don't like it at all. You no longer have to fold just 2 blinds, you have to fold three players.

bbooooooo...

You get 1 caller and you'll probably not even have 40% equity. The chance of getting 1 caller out of 3...pretty high. Let's have your thoughts in this thread Mr. Shant.

I wouldn't try this with loose blinds or anyone with a VPIP > 35 in the blinds, but he said there ahd been tight preflop play going on, so now I want to steal the poster's money too. 45s is a little low for my stealing range, but can't we open that up now that someone has posted?

IMO it's just the opposite. I think it's necessary to tighten up when you have a poster or two on top of the blinds. You're more likely to get called. Especially considering we're playing SS, I'm persuaded this PF play here is -EV (and I don't think it's even close).....but...I'm always listening...

I'm totally impressed that you were this close!

My boy QTip here is right. I went and downloaded PokerStove and ran it and 54s isn't ahead of random hands. I'm still not sure the extra money in the pot, our position, and FE of a flop bet doesn't change things though. 76s also comes off as 45% equity against one caller, but I'd raise that in this situation.

P.S. Thanks QTip for the motivation to download PokerStove.
