You need to be more specific. Assuming that both players always see the flop, it's roughly 1 in 5000.

1 in 5000!?!?....that can't be right....maybe I didn't word the question right and you misunderstood me......If I have 97o, and the flop comes down 954, what is the probability that my opponent has also has a 9. thanks.

Re: heads up question

There are 47 cards remaining after the flop. Your opponent could have any one of (47c2) cards or 1081 combinations.

There are two nines and 45 other cards. Either nine could hit with any of the 45 other cards, that makes 90 combinations with one nine. So the probability that you both get top pair is: 90/1081 = 8.3% or 1 in 12 times.

There is also one combination of a pair of nines that we did not include in the above calculation.

Re: heads up question

wouldnt it be just 2:47. the 2 remaining 9's over the 47 unseen cards. Assuming he plays any hand. This would also include hands where he has more than top pair....trips, or 2 pair.
Maybe this is wrong, but that would be my guess.
