Bad idea to slowplay a set of 7s on the bubble?
 

This is a $5 on stars, regular (non-turbo).

The preflop raise might have been a little small. any suggestions?

You have to protect your hands from the draws...There are both straight and flush draws on the board. You have to bet the flop...make the bet at least 1/2 the size pot, I'd make it about 3/4 of the pot personally. So yes, it is a bad idea to slow play a set with a draw happy boards for sure

yes, giving a free shot a 3rd club on the turn is bad. I think I would bet this flop in almost every situation and being on the bubble makes it even more important

I would've raised more pre-flop (to 400 or so), or just called. You gave him 2:1 odds to call your raise.

With a straight draw and a flush draw out there, I'd probably make a 2/3 pot bet on the flop and make them pay to see the turn. I think you're losing this one either way, however. If he's paying to play this, he's not going to let his draw go.

agreed. i feel like even if I overbet the flop, he would have called.

As to the preflop bet, good point about the 2:1 odds. in retro, i think i should have scaled it to about 500, as that was the upper end of the preflop raises so far.

i think the 3b raise reflop is weak becasue sb has a large stack, probably looked like a blnd steal attempt to him

your heads up with him and he limped so i'd go all-in because you dont want action, especially not hanging in the wind with overcards on the flop that may have paired him

an excpetion would be if he exhibited traps earlier which i doubt at a $5/1 table

Since he has already limped, you need to raise a bit more of you plan on raising 400-500 is better.

On the flop as others have mentioned, there are straight and flush draws so I think you need to throw a good bet out there.

I'd make it 400 and come over the top of a check-raise obviously.

Pushing with a 27BB stack into a 32BB stack with 77 is asking for trouble.
