How would you play it?
 
Freeroll NLH tourney. BB 6000, SB 3000, antes 1000. 8 players. blinds double every 15 minutes, at this point, they are 4 minutes away from doubling. Prize for 8th is 5, 7th=10,6th=20,5th=30,4th=40,3rd=60,2nd=70,1st=100

Tight-weak player in 5th position calls.
Hero: SB with 17000. Pick up 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. folded around to hero. . .

with 3x the bb,and about to get worse,it looks like a good opportunity,but i'm sure you went out here though,or you probably would have forgotten this situation.i say push this hand,and if you win,push again before the blinds get to you.
only reason i could see not too,is if you are actually way above average stack,which doesn't seem likely having 3 times bb,but who knows,maybe it's a bad structure for this time of the tournament,i've seen some pretty funny last tables,with extra small blinds and extra big blinds.

You cant just call because what can u do after the flop? Very seldom will ur 77 look good after the flop but if it did u couldnt force n e one out with ur stack.

Your best bet is to move in and steal the blinds. If u get called u have a great chance of bein ahead with ur pocket pair, atleast 50-50 to 2 overs.
