What\'s the difference between a fish
and a gambler?
Is there a difference in your mind? And how does your strategy change depending on which you think your opponent is? |
Re: What\'s the difference between a fish
there's a huge difference between someone who is a LAG (loose aggressive)and some one who is willing to gamble. The most common LAG thinks that there's a connection between his ego and his willingness to "gamble" or play every hand. "You're not a real man if you fold etc etc."

Both players probably know they are beat before the river - however:
I think the difference is that a fish is hoping beyond all hope he'll be saved and then thinks he made a great play when he catches his 5 outer and pumps himself up that way. A gambler just doesn't care, but laughs his head off when he does suck out and says something dumb to annoy everyone. |

In my opinion, some of the biggest fish are not gamblers. These are the weak tight players who think they know how to play poker and just can't understand why some 'over-aggressive lucky' kid beats them all the time.
