Wondering about this river fold...

Villain is 17/11/1.5 after not too many hands. I haven't noticed him getting out of line.

I think it's fine personally. I don't think he's raising with KK here. If he does have an A, you are splitting at best.

That's what I was thinking too. He claimed to have KK after the hand and didn't believe I had an ace, so it got me questioning my play a little.

No way I fold there.

Also, am I the only one who check raises that flop?

My thinking was WA/WB...

Agreed. But it cost you an extra 6$ call on the turn, and in my opinion at least 1/2 the pot on the river.

Checkraising the flop is gonna reduced that cost to $3 (disregarding getting 3bet...maybe this could be a fold, but I see the turn). Then the times when I am WA/when I make 2 pair/flush takes care of the rest I think.

I don't understand why you would want to do this. What will a hand you beat do in response to a c/r? What will a hand that beats you do? Everything is fine with this play imo.

The only question is should the river be a call? What range of hands do you put him on? We can't gauge how often he is bluffing because that is more of a read based thing. I don't think it's that high though because in my experience, it is only a complete maniac that will 3-bet PF, bet flop, bet turn, and raise the river all as a bluff. He has something. The question is does he have something we beat often enough to justify a call.

Re: Wondering about this river fold...

Don't know how correct this range is, but from the flop 3 bet i was thinking AA-TT, AKs/o, and AQs/maybe off.

After the action on the river, JJ and TT seem really unlikely. I don't know how probably I think KK is, since I'm clearly thinking about it from this specific hand. We're getting 10:1 on the river call. If he plays AK/AQ/KK the same way, clearly an easy call. I guess I was thinking he wouldn't raise KK...
