Squeeze play situation

How does this look?

$11 Party tournament

No reads on the first limper as he had recently moved to the table. The second limper had been playing pretty loose.

Lately whenever I attempt a squeeze with a similar hand it seems I frequently get called by a bigger ace. Should I just completely avoid making squeeze plays with A8s-ATs?

I know having 9Ts is probably better when you do get called, but do you think I get called by worse hands, pocket pairs lower than 99 or get everyone to fold enough of the time here to make this a +EV play? I needed to accumulate and this looked like a pretty good spot. All thoughts appreciated.

10 BBs and a suited Ace yeah I push.

this seems more like "punishing the limpers" than a traditional "squeeze play" to me ... either way, i think it's hard to pull off w/o decent reads.

in this specific case, you were so short-stacked it didn't really matter ... you just got unlucky.

Bleh, i dont like it, too likely to be called in an $11. You've still got enough room that you aren't hurting too much. I'd fold and wait for what looks to be a better spot.

Edit: Especially bad due to the no antes on Party.

Re: Squeeze play situation

I don't know that this play is bad without reads. At these stakes, I usually hesitate to make this play unless the limpers have limped a few times before.

Also, this play is much better with small suited connectors as they're unlikely to be dominated.

P.S. Don't post results. The hand history here should stop after your push.

with 10BBs, would you really fold A9s in CO position against limpers?

Sometimes this is an easy fold.

i need help here (not being sarcastic) ... why is this an easy fold here? is it two limpers instead of one? what would the minimum non-paired hand be that's worth playing in this spot?

Re: Squeeze play situation

Yeah. I'm pretty sure i would. Remember 10xBB is not OMG push everything in sight time. Remember, you've just passed the blinds, there are NO antes. I just dont think its a good position with A9s. Its an easily dominated hand because people luvvv Ax.
I just think you can find a better place to get the money in, in a $10 tournament.
