Possible to win at $50 NL 10 tabling w/o reads?

i'm a SnG player and I 10 table the 50+5's.

my perception between sng's and ring games is that reads dont help as much for me in SnGs. i just play my cards. i play tight early, and then become a pushbot when blinds are big.

I heard that ring games are MUCH more read dependant. but i'm wondering is it possible to be a winning player at 10 tabling $50 NL w/o reads? if so, what $/hr?

i 6-table for close to $45 / hr. this rate can only be done late in the evening when there are juicy tables. otherwise winrate is much lower since there are fewer atm machines dispensing cash.

there are winning players 8-tabling $50, $100 and $200 NL full ring - not sure how many 6 max you can realistically play - I figure maybe 6

you will need:

2 hi res monitors
PokerTracker
PAHUD
very good concentration skills

i only do full ring since 6 max is even more read dependant.

just asking about $/hr for 10 tabling $50 NL full ring WITHOUT any reads?

I'd guess about 1/4 of what you could make 5 tabling with reads....that's if you make anything at all..

i would recommend playing only two tables while trying to learn the game and climb limits as fast as possible.
once you feel comfortable at a certain limit add more tables.
esp. when coming from an sng background i dont think its a good idea to start out with some heavy multitabling. you will most likely make money but longterm i think the other approach is much better (IMHO)

They can be, but they don't have to be. A lot of the game is still correctly reading the strength of your hand, reading the action, using your options, then waiting for your opponents to mess up.

Yes, it is possible, particularly at slower full tables. I think it wouldn't be too hard to win 5 PTBB/100 by set-mining decently. There are other viable strategies that don't require much attention, either. If you buy in short, you can avoid most tough post-flop decisions and punish your loose opponents, much as in a tournament where your opponents limp too much.

I'm sure you could make decent money set mining but that isnt going to do anything for your game.

I'm just curious but what is "set mining" ?
Thank you.
