Las Vegas Trip - How should i book the room ?

I'm planning on going to vegas pretty soon, we want to stay at MGM grand. I would like to get the poker room rate, but when i go to book the trip online, they dont give me the quotes from the poker rate, so how should i book the room? Or should i jsut book it and they will refund me what i paid before? thanks

I can tell you that for Bellagio/Wynn, I have booked poker rate by calling the general casino line and just asking to be transferred to the poker room directly. The poker room should be able to make your reservations for you without any problem, since they track play and if you dont meet the hours required I believe they will automatically bill you the full price on checkout. hope this helps.

Don't think you can do it online. Call them directly. You'll either get the rate up front or they will adjust it based on your play during checkout.

How much better are the "poker rates"?

How many hours do you generally need to play to get the better rates?

Never been to Vegas but plan on making a long trip this year, thanks for the additional information.

www.allvegaspoker.com will have some of the info you need.

Basically 6-8hrs per day. Usually up to 30% off standard rate.

Why bother booking it online at all? Just call them up and book it, it's not like you'll get a different poker rate.

I'm pretty sure the MGM Grand is the one casino where you need to be previously rated to get the poker rate, meaning you have had to play there before and have a card before they will give you the rate.

Atleast this was the case when I inquired about the rate in August. If I were you I would stay at Wynn, 129 dollar rate during the week and a much nicer poker room if you ask me.

Why do you want to stay at the MGM Grand?

Call them using their 800 number. If you book online they might not give you a reduced rate later anyways, if the room was already sold out to the online service as part of a package.
