Time Magazine Person of the Year: Nominations

For some background here are the past 5 winners:

'00- Bush
'01- Giuliani
'02- Corporate Whistleblowers
'03- U.S. Soldiers
'04- Bush

I can't think of anyone in the political arena who really stood out, so I branched out to entertainment and sports, and came up with Lance Armstrong. I'd love to hear others' thoughts.

Or Bono, or as this article is speculating, something to do with Katrina: http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/11/15/time.personyear.ap/

Who cares? TIME just likes to suck the public off by naming our soldiers the man of the year and things of that nature. It'll probably be Jesus this year.

This list clearly shows that there is a liberal media bias.

If it makes you feel better, I don't think that ANY politician (or their agents) should ever be 'Man of the Year'. I don't exactly know what the criteria is, but I would choose someone who doesn't make a career out of manipulating people. I remember the amazon.com guy winning, I guess that was a semi-decent choice.

I'm betting it'll be the hurricanes. Back in the 80's their "Person" was the computer. And I think Newsweek touts a "Newsmaker of the Year," which would also be the hurricanes. Wouldn't be the first time they made the same choice(s).

I'm saddened to say I think you're right... both of those magazines need to grow a pair.

Sandy Berger for bending over and taking it in the rear to save the Clinton administration in front of the 9/11 Commission. Shame he was the only one to come out of that with a crimnal record....

If there's one force that is going to have more impact on us in the next 20 years then anything, it's probably Nature -

Global Warming plus Cat 5 hurricanes = major disruptions to the American Way of life - why not make it person of the year.
