Am I too aggressive? (agression factor stats)

Is there a consensus on what is close to an optimal stat for your post flop aggression factor?

I have recently moved back down to 1/2 (3/6 is normal game) in an interest of getting myself used to MTing (currently at 3 tables, moving to 4 this week most likely). I play at UB and Stars most of the time.

My stats for the past few days (4100 hands) are 4.57 on the flop, 3.87 on the turn, 1.84 on the river, for an average of 3.61.

For my past 23K hands at 1/2, 2/4, and 3/6, my stats are even higher. 4.21 on the flop, 4.52 on the turn, 2.75 on the river, for an average of 3.93 overall.

These numbers seem high to me. I haven't been running the best and I'm not sure if I'm losing bets by being overaggressive after the flop. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

What is your WtSD? Frequently, your aggro is high because you are folding too much. It seems possible that you are folding a lot of winners since your river aggression is so high in comparison with the turn. (My aggro goes down from F,T,R).

Thanks aK13.

For the 23K hand stretch, my WtSD is 27.70 and my W$SD is 54.73. For the 4100 hand stretch, WtSD is 25.67 with a W$SD of 56.87.

A word about aggression.

Many times when you see somebody with a very high aggression stat, it is because they are folding alot.

For instance according to PokerAce HUD one guy I play with who had a 5.0 after 1800 hands for overall aggression, his fold to bet on the flop is almost 80%.

Anyway with a 4.57 on the flop, I would guess you have adopted a raise/fold philosophy on the flop. You need to give more thought to "why" you are raising in certain situations, and see if calling occasionally might be more profitable.

Thank you for the link to that thread. It is excellent. I agree that is should be a sticky. (I did a search I swear. I just didn't go back far enough)

flair1239 - Your assessment is pretty close, especially for my last 4100 hands. Flops have been missing by miles. I will focus on why I am raising/folding on the flop and look for more opportunities to check-call.
