Fashion

The [censored] post about dressing himself lead me to this.

I was discussing some of the tips with my girlfriend and she immediately disagreed with a good bit of what I had read.

We talked about it a bit and this question came up.

Which clothing labels/designers make the most money (net profit).

I figured it was probably a brand from a major distributer like wal-mart/the gap. She felt it was more likely gucci/valentino or one of the other famous designers.

I tried some googling but haven't found anything defenitive yet.

I doubt it is the super high end designers. The market for those clothes just simply isn't big enough. But I have no stats to back anything up so whatever.

I bet "mall brands" like Abercrombie and Gap make bank. They seem to be the most commonly worn brands, but I may be wrong.

I'd guess Nike, Gap, and Levi's as all being in the top 5.

No way the high end designers make the most money.

if you count nike, they are the biggest, and dont forget that gap/banana/old navy are all the same company, and nike is still bigger..

Overall profit or on a per item basis?

Overall profit wise I really doubt anyone can compete with Wal-Mart.

But on a per item basis it is most likely the super high end designers since thier customers are paying such a high premium for the name brand.
