AA vs semi-tight raiser

Villain is 30/7.

Preflop, I think I should've made it 14-15. Do you flat call sometimes here with someone left to act ? Anyone make it more than 15 ?

Once he calls I narrow his range to JJ-KK.

On the flop, I went into WA/WB mode. I thought I'd let him bet his KK (maybe JJ but less likely that he bets into my check) and try and control pot size in case he has QQ. Leading out will get called or raised by both KK/QQ also, so I don't know which move is better.

Turn... his weak bet could mean JJ-QQ-KK again (JJ-KK fearing AA and QQ trying to suck value out). Any reasons to bet out the turn ?

River follows same logic, and now JJ got there too.

Look at his stack size. You are missing too much value in this case by playing this hand scared.

Raise the turn. That bet is so weak that it's ridiculous.

I'll just call here sometimes, depending on the villain.

If you're going to raise, though -- which I usually do -- definitely raise more. Unless you have a very solid read on your opponent, assuming JJ-KK is too narrow. Remember, he opened the pot from the button, meaning his range is looser than usual (he/s 30/7, but he probably raises more like 12-15% of his buttons, or maybe even more) and now he's getting pretty decent odds.

If you're going to be engaging in preflop fireworks with AA against a 70BB stack, trying to get it all-in as soon as possible is my standard line... which also involves more of a raise preflop.

I think you need to bet this flop and call a push. If he folds to your bet, I'm OK with that too.

Judging by the river action, he had KK, AQ, or diamonds?

I really think you should bet this flop. Even if you give him such a narrow range as KK-JJ, you will lose alot of value if you check-call like this. You will get a call from both JJ and KK if you bet something like 2/3 pot on the flop. You will also probably get his KK all-in on the turn if you follow up with another bet.

However, I think you give him way too narrow a range of hands. You will get called by lots of lesser hands, such as 99, TT, AK, AQ. If you add these hands, I think you should be even more inclined to bet.

This is something I definitely overlooked. I got too caught up in GameTime stats and forgot about the actual situation (button raise).

Raise that turn. Villain's range is much wider than hands that beat you. Push the river. You let the short stack escape with a minimal loss (if you had KK in this hand and didn't get stacked, wouldn't you feel good?)

Re: AA vs semi-tight raiser

raise more pre-flop (you basically mini-raised)

bet the flop

check-call the turn

bet the river
