Big blind defense results for some specific hands

I have always defined my BB defense criteria for offsuit hands as "any two offsuit T or higher" or "any two offsuit 9 or higher", etc.

After looking at my PT results I have then periodically loosened my criteria in search of the frontier of hands which are a toss up EV wise between calling and folding. For the last 50K hands or so I have been using "any two offsuit 8 or higher".

I realize that the sample size is extraordinarily small, but if any of you could provide your results for any offsuit hands that contain at least one non-broadway card I would very much appreciate it. Filter PokerTracker for "big blind", "put money in", "no raise". Here are mine for 5/10 (6-max):

Also please include the game you were playing:

A9 = -88 dollars on 112 times
A8 = -80 dollars on 74 times
A7 = -119 dollars on 25 times
A6 = -32 dollars on 21 times
A5 = -34 dollars on 16 times
A4 = -67 dollars on 25 times
A3 = -60 dollars on 22 times
A2 = -181 dollars on 19 times

K9 = -566 dollars on 102 times
K8 = -337 dollars on 63 times
K7 = -24 dollars on 24 times

Q9 = -520 dollars on 137 times
Q8 = -337 dollars on 58 times
Q7 = -7 dollars on 11 times

J9 = -1118 dollars on 223 times
J8 = -233 dollars on 59 times
J7 = +15 dollars on 20 times

T9 = -167 dollars on 182 times
T8 = -299 dollars on 111 times
T7 = -35 dollars on 35 times

98 = -616 dollars on 105 times
97 = +114 dollars on 27 times

87 = -249 dollars on 63 times

76 = -296 dollars on 31 times

65 = -116 dollars on 29 times

54 = -170 dollars on 13 times

Why have you put the information in $'s and not bb/hand, which would tell you alot more and allow comparision of results.

These numbers suggest you are losing much less by defending with these hands, then you would lose if you just fold correct?

FWIW, I think there was a post a while back by Peter Rus saying he was experimenting with defending with practically any 2 cards.

You are right that the conversion to BB/hand has to be made for proper comparison. The reason that I had them in this form is so that I could quickly find the result for groupings such as "offsuit Aces below A9 for instance". I would just add up the dollar totals and divide by the times. I appreciate the data in any form though.

Correct. Folding would yield a result of -$5 per hand at 5/10 for example. So almost all of these categories have done better than that. The ridiculously small sample size clearly makes it impossible to tell the true worth of say Q9. But in my opinion looking at "families" of hands in context with one another can offer some insight.

Do you happen to know where to start looking for that?
