was this way too tight? 3 handed in a 10 +1

thoughts? what i was thinking: i had had a huge stack, and couldn't stomach busting out ahead of the shorty on my left. felt like this was pretty tight but also pretty sure of getting me heads up. discuss.

1st: oops. it was 4 handed, which changes things a lot.
2nd: i don't care about results (at least that's not why i'm asking); the fact that i had the best hand isn't what bothered me. what i want to know is, would others have done this differently?

Use the ICM Luke...

Put UTG on a top whatever % hand, BB on a random hand, and assume for simplicity that UTG checks it down to eliminate shorty if you call.

IMHO, there is nothing wrong with waiting until you are in the money before scrapping it out. AJo isn't that great of a hand.

yeah, i like tossing it. because you dont have position on the villian. if you call and check as first action, he will almost certainly bet. Then what? Folding avoids a sticky decision on the flop.

On the bubble this is a definite fold for me.

You haven't given any read for UTG, but why take the risk?

Simply callig and hoping to catch the flop will leave you with less than the button. This could be a very expensive hand. If you lose it you may well still finish in the money, but I'd rather take more into the money to fight with.

I'd probably push, but I'm [censored]' crazy.

i'd push or fold, depending on how UTG had been playing, and how much i thought he respected my raise.

if you push, he folds, and you bust the BB, you are in great position to win.

i think calling and then giving up on the flop if he bets is the worst play by far.
