Blind structures, etc. for home SnG

Hey all,
Been hosting a steady home game for a few months now. Usually get about 10-15 players.

Just got a new set of chips and really want to restructure the blinds, amount of chips to start, etc.

My set is 500 chips. Broken down:
150 White ($1)
150 Red ($5)
100 Blue ($10)
50 Green ($25)
25 Black ($50)
25 Pink ($100)

Here's the problem ... the regulars are used to playing with a ridiculously low starting amount : 25X BB

We usually start with 10 white (10), 5 red (25), 4 Blue (40), 1 green (25)

Mainly, we do this because, we like to speed up the games. And play 3-4 SnG's in a night.

Blinds start at 2/4. And go to 3/6 when 1 player busts out. 4/8 when another busts etc.

I would rather a bigger starting stack and timed blinds.

How should I attack this and wat do you all think would be the best compromise?

I also have the problem of this: If I start everyone off with much more in chips, and the blinds start at say 15/30. All the white chips I just bought are basically obsolete!

Nothing is forcing you to play for the right $ amounts based on chip color. Check out my tourney blind schedule and you wont go wrong.

Good luck

Check out my thread Here I have several blind structures in there, there should be one that suits your needs, or at least would make for a good starting point to make your own.

beats what we do. some buddies of mine started up a game in my living room and i told them i wanted in. i was down to heads up in an online SNG and said i would be a few minutes. so i finish it up and arrive to see they have already started.

7 people, $10 buy-in, 25 chips each. blinds start at 1/2 and go up every half hour.

it was bloody ridiculous. most of them are calling stations, and i mean Ten high calling stations. nonetheless i got myself down to 16 chips before i had a decent hand i could play (except for my big blinds because no one raised me). so now the blinds are 2/4 and i'm UTG+2. i get dealt ATs. i figure i have to go all-in. if i raise a little and miss my blind is coming up soon and i will be crushed. the only other choice was fold but i go all-in. sure enough i get called by T9o, and he hits a 9 to eliminate me first. i'm not playing with those ridiculous mini-stacks anymore. it's a total crapshoot.

Well, if you play so many SNG's each time, switch it up. Play one or two the old way to "warm up". Then play a longer one with more chips and a slower blind.

In fact, I like that a lot. I have a monthly game. I might try different blind structures.

Yup,, thats exactly what it was, still had that supply link in my clipboard from viewing an earlier post about dying poker tables, someone said that ordering that felt would be a good way to test dyes, sorry for the inconvienence, the link is fixed HERE
