TD 2-7 Hand -- Breaking the Eight?

5-handed. I make a stealy-raise from the cutoff 2462x. The Button, who is a tricky, aggressive player, reraises. The SB, who is a complete Donk, calls.

We all draw 2.

I improve to 24684. SB leads out and we both call.

SB and I pull one, Button takes 2.

I make a 24678. SB checks, I bet and the Button raises! SB calls and I call.

Now what??

What game is this?

Headsup I'd figure he's trying to get me to break, so I'd stand pat. Multiway it's harder.

You're not going to always make the perfect decision here. Just try to understand what the button's raise means. It's different for every player.

Usually, I think you'd be beat here, but it's hard to say with any certainty. My default play would be to break, but it's probably correct to call down some players.

I think the action after the first draw is interesting in this hand too. If you raise the turn, you'll get the pot heads up with position most of the time for 1 or 2 small bets. This play would fail whenever the button is willing to cold call or the SB is pat. Still, I think that might be a pretty interesting play to consider.

Edited to correct the wording.

If SB had folded to the 2-bet, I would be a lot happier here playing this heads up. With no better read on the button, I am still calling and, assuming the Donk is still drawing one, standing pat.

Button may have raised to get the hand heads up, but thats unlikely to happen at this point since SB is donk and is still drawing 1 card. Button was drawing 2 before this, his raise may also mean he has a made hand but I stay pat none the less. Check the river and see what happens from there. If Button bets and SB calls then I fold.

**Results**

I reason that while there is some chance that the button is making a play, it is more likely that he has a hand that beats me, since he knows that the donk is just going to keep calling and drawing until he gets an 8-low anyway. So, I break, and like luckbox I am, catch a wheel. Only the button calls my bet on the end, and he shows a 97.
