What does checkraising this flop accomplish?

yeah, I'm more annoyed by the flop suckage than the title.

yeah really.

i also like that the river action is cut off, as if it matters what villain does after us when we hold the nuts.

I'm not a big fan of the flop raise. You'll lose value from hands that are close to drawing dead (i.e. JJ, QQ – which both incidentally catch their outs), and open yourself up to a number of deceptive plays, i.e. a turn check-raise, flop 3-bet. Seems like WA/WB is more appropriate on the flop. Turn seems fine.

There may be some merit in check-raising the river, depending of course on villain's aggression. Though, villain is likely holding 2 pair or greater (AK, AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT - all give villain strong hands). Therefore, I'd likely check-raise here, as it's very likely villain will bet here, and consequently pay off the raise. Using the formula in TOP to approximate the value of a check-raise would be helpful, but I'm short on time and this is highly read dependent.

You're WA/WB

Why not just play standardly instead of expertly, you'll win more often.

What is considered the "standard play" in the WA/WB situation? Is it Check/call, check/call, bet/call? Seems I never have encountered this term on these boards before.

that's right. except river play varies. sometimes check/call, sometimes bet/call, often bet/fold.
