Foxwoods big game

shocking to me that the poker-hub of New England's biggest limit game is 20/40. i've tried on several occasions to get a 40/80 game going...to no avail. have things changed thsi week with the big tourney in town? you think we'll ever see a 40/80 50/100 type of game at the 'woods?

I'm a low limit playing college kid, I go down to Foxwoods every now and then, the best chance you have of getting a good bigger game is on friday nights, the fridays I've been, I've seen 30-60 texas, 40-80 texas, 50-100 HOE, 100-200 stud, and 10-25NL. You aren't gonna get a good game any other night there. From what I hear the 20-40 is a pretty loose game.

Yes, there have been much bigger games during the World Poker Finals. 200/400 O.E., 150/300 O8, 10/25 NLHE, were a few that I sweated . And that was during the first week with just the $500 tourneys and such.

The reason is that the poker hub of New England doesn't have regular big games is that it's located far from any big money cities. Put FW within 30 minutes of Boston or NYC and there would be similar big money games like the LA casinos going every day.

i was there last friday and they were running a 2k-4k hold em game... but yeah, the other three times i went, the biggest limit game they had running was 20-40. it seems that most of the people playing there are wpt wannabe 1-2 nl kids... equipped with sunglasses, hoods, visors, and everything else you see on tv.

I sat in the 50/100 game for a little while last Saturday, but on regular basis the 20/40 is as high as the nitty regulars are willing to go.

Outside of tourny times in the spring and fall, we have to beg to get a 40 game going. Then the few times that they actually call it, it never fills and usually breaks after only a couple of hours.

There are only a few regulars that are fairly decent. Generally they look at the lineup and see the other decent folks in it and rightly conlude that they are better off EV-wise in the 20 game.

There's just not enough fishy types willing to play in a 40 game on a regular basis.

If you want to play higher then you either need to play Omaha or mixed stuff.

Actually there's a regular 75/150 stud game at Foxwoods. This is still the Northeast, after all, and stud is still big up here.

Also a fairly regular 10/25 blind NLHE game.

Have we all forgotten that Texas Hold'em isn't the only form of poker?

As a side note, they used to regularly spread a 300/600 Omaha8 game at Mohegan. Where'd those guys go?

It was more commonly a mixed game, and it was usually at Foxwoods, not the Sun. That game died when THE key fish passed away, bless his soul.

For a number of months, there were no games (other than stud) bigger than 20/40 in CT. But I hear that they've been spreading the 75/150 and 150/300 mixed games there more frequently lately, even outside tournament time.

But don't expect to play straight hold'em higher than 20/40 there.
