Can she really afford to be late? It's not like she's very good to begin with. And what's the deal with getting there late? What's it prove? That you're either too cool or too good to get there on time? Not like this tournament is a big deal or anything.

who cares if you show up late? you can't win the tournament in the first level. i'd rather have T10,000 than T9,500, but for some people it's not that big of a deal.

Probably because they don't want to deal with the huge hassle of finding seats, pushing through crowds, etc. It's not like they're losing half their stack. 36 minutes? What is that 2 orbits?
