Anyone get a real gross feeling while they\'re in a casino?

Anyone else ever just feel like a nasty nasty degenerate while in a casino? I'm currently staying at Turning Stone, and it's kinda sick watching people play slots, roulette, and other ridiculous games. Can't help but wonder if they're betting their life savings. I have no sympathy, but does anyone else feel weird being around all the different people? I'll see people mindlessly scratching themselves while pulling slots for hours.... Maybe it's just cause I find it so stupid.

Once I'm in the pokerroom I feel fine and at home, but the table games/slots seem to really bother me...meh. Probably a good thing so I won't dare gambool it up too much.

Doesn't bother me. Get someone rich to stake you for $100/hand BJ so they can get their comps and you'll get over it quick.

It's actually kind of fun if it's not your money.

Edit: Holy crap, I'm Carpal Tunnel now. Have been for 50 posts, actually.

I get sick, but not for the reasons you listed.

BTW, nice little revelation Metetron.

These people enjoy what they're doing (a vast majority of them) Why pity them?

I guess that's a good point. Most of them are there to have fun, and are responsible...

I've dealt virtually every game out there. You get used to seeing all of the stuff that most people would never see. You get the see the best and worst of people in a casino. Everyone knows they are supposed to lose in a casino, yet think the games are rigged or cheating them, yet they still play. WTF morons, how do you think they pay the bills...by handing out money? LOL

No, I dont feel sorry for them. They make a conscious decision to battle a -EV situation. As long as they are attempting to have fun and enjoy themselves, then it's cool.

I hate to say it..."but when the fun stops"...stop gambling.

Know lots of people who gamble, for the most part at -EV games.

Maybe it's just luck, but none of them would be considered problem gamblers who are endangering their financial situation.

They play with money they can afford to spend, and play for the entertainment factor. None of them are highrollers--they will take $50 or $100 max for an afternoon at the tribal casinos 90 minutes down the road or up to KC or StL on an overniter. Play some slots and VP, make a few bets at the OTB at the Oklahoma casinos.

Some are actually a little ahead.....they've hit a few nice jackpots and have the sense to not give it all back the same trip.

And when you think about it....spending $50 at a casino is less expensive than a golf outing.....so to each his/her own.

You sound a bit high and mighty. You do realize that playing poker is also a form of gambling, don't you?
