how can you trade foreign equities in the US?
 

I use Ameritrade but they don't let you trade foreign issues (except through ADRs). Are there any online brokerage firms that accept US clients and let you buy foreign issues, like FTSE stocks for example.. or a certain poker company's stock that will soon be available. I called Etrade, they will through a live broker if it doesn't have an ADR.

When/if someone from the US succeeds in buying Party, please post what brokerage firm you used and anything else that you had to do.

Unlike a previous poster, when I contacted Etrade they could not tell me for sure if I could buy PartyGaming through them. Other brokerage houses have either directly told me no or flat out had no clue.

As for the brokerage houses suggested already in these posts - I'm a bit skeptical about sending money to a brokerage house I've never heard of...

From what I've read, people seem pretty happy with them and they are dirt cheap. They do have a minimum $10 of commissions per month, which you have to eat if you don't do any trading that month.

Why don't you drop me a PM and let me know what you're interested in volume-wise on Party...I work for one of the Top Three brokerages here in Vegas and can likely get you some good information offline.
