Slow down with TPTK ?

Should I ever slow down with TPTK ? Against solid players I'm often seeing the flush or a set at the showdown here, but when he just calls the whole way I can't get away from it. I guess a river bet is sort of a "blocking bet" not a value bet?

Re: Slow down with TPTK ?

against solid players, I would go for $25-$30 on the river and almost always fold to a raise. this is a tough spot to be in, but given the way the hand went there was no good place to slow down to control the pot.

against LAGs, I think the correct play is to check-call almost anything, but against solid players we don't really have that flexibility.
