A little help from Medium Stakes?

So, I posted a hand in SSNL about 3-betting before the flop in 25NL. People seemed to really disagree with my play and the ideas I articulated defending the moves I made. I would love some medium stakes players to take a look at the hand and give their input. You don't have to post in the thread if you don't want, but I would love to get a couple of PMs or something with your thoughts.

Cheers,
Waxie

I did not read the entire thread, but three betting AKo OOP preflop is not a winning strategy at any limit.

If you had a specific read on villain, then it might be OK, but in that case, only you would know.

That seems to be the general point people were making.

Re: A little help from Medium Stakes?

reads dependant.

The main problem is usually when someone reraises and u have AK u are either slightly behind (pp), way behind (AA-KK), or even (AK) You need a read that this is not the case to 3-bet.

The other problem is the size of the pot is not controled. AK is not a hand u want to play for a big pot with w/o reads. This is because usually you won't flop a pair on the flop, if u do flop a pair you probably won't win much from a pocket pair (unless u get stacked by AA-KK) which is going to be just about the only thing that calls this 3 bet (without reads)

-bedtime, then finals time.

PS I rocked the [censored] out of open mic night tonight MSNL would be proud.
