Germany freed terrorist as part of deal to free German Hostage in Iraq

This story happened a few days ago but did not draw much attention in world news.

This article mentions the overall shadiness involved in Germany releasing the terrorist that hijacked a TWA flight in 1985 and beaten/killed a US Navy officer. The terrorist, Mohammed Ali Hamadi, flew to Lebanon after being released; Lebanon refuses to turn him over to US. Less then three days later Susanne Osthoff, a German archaeologist taken hostage was released. Germany, of course, is denying a "deal" was made and timing of all of this is coincidence.

This article is excellent; the US already has announced that it will track Hamadi down. Germany also had some companies involved in manipulating the oil-for-food program in Iraq prior to the war. This article discuses "surcharges" or basically kickbacks that Saddams regime received.

What I find bizarre is that the maximum sentence by law for this guy was 25 years. What the hell was he convicted of?

The Israeli policy of counting the hostage dead and then taking reprisals when the opportunity arises is better. Appeasement only encourages further such actions.

Yes. This terrorist must be hunted down and executed, or captured, tried, and executed.

Of course, let's not hold our breath. Osama is still running around on the loose, free as a bird, over 4 years after plotting the mass murder of thousands of innocent civilians.

It is shocking that that scumbag has not been brought to justice. What we really need is someone in the White House who will get tough with terrorists.

Zipo,
you act as if the current administration doesn't want to or is incapable of catching him. So, does that mean that the previous administrations in office during the unabomber's actions didn't want to, or was incapable for twenty years when he was right here in our borders?

Yeah I know, the usual lib bash Bush it must be done right now litany. But patience and staying the course will succeed in the end. And again with the Israeli example, look how long it took them to track down some of the Nazis, but they kept at it.
